In 1923 Antonio Calligaris started his small artisanal business by producing the 'Marocca' chair, a typical model of the Manzano area in Friuli. Characterised by a sturdy wooden frame, hand-woven rush seat, and slightly curved legs, this chair marked the beginning of Calligaris furniture’s legacy.

Throughout the 90’s the Calligaris furniture range expanded its range with complete furnishing solutions such as Calligaris dining chairs, tables, bar stools, and sideboards. No longer limited to wood, the company began incorporating metal, plastic, leather, and glass into their designs. Calligaris has successfully unified artisanal traditions known for their quality and care, with industrial techniques that have made the brand a leader in the furniture industry.
